Demystifying Dyslexia: A Parent’s Guide to Understanding and Support

Dyslexia is often misunderstood, leaving parents unsure of what it really means for their child. In this free webinar, Dr. Brennan Chandler — professor, researcher, and dyslexia specialist — explains what dyslexia is (and isn’t), outline common learning profiles, and share what research says helps children, adolescents, and adults with dyslexia. Parents will leave with a clearer understanding of dyslexia and practical guidance for supporting their child’s learning at home and at school.

Brennan Chandler, PhD, is an assistant professor of dyslexia at Georgia State University, where he studies and develops intensive interventions for students with dyslexia and other learning disabilities. His research focuses on reading and writing instruction, with a special focus on building strong foundational literacy skills for adolescents. A former teacher in both public and private settings, Dr. Chandler is committed to bridging research and practice by working closely with educators, schools, and families to support students with significant literacy challenges.
